Welcome to the Mecca of Virginia Lyricism!
In January 2018. We set out to change things in our city, and the scene and culture when it came to Hiphop, and emceeing. We saw the term “emcee” become a thing of the past, and the desire to go out and RAP in public to earn your stripes as an emcee become non-existent. We have galvanized that feeling, and reinvigorated the scene with lyricism.
Our Rap Elite Events are broken down in the following segments:
Producer’s Lounge Hosted by NameBrand is where the vibes get started w/ dope producers playing their beats live on stage to set the energy for the night!
Southpaw Battle Coalition Battles: One on One Emcee Battle for Supremacy
SoundClash: This segment is a 3 round song battle between 2 emcees. Each performing original music back and forth and at the end of 3 rounds the audience chooses a winner. This episode will see our 3x defending Champion Corey Jah go up against 2x Cypher Champion Juanski for the SoundClash title! Also in a Number One Contenders bout we will see 5 On 5 Champion Styck The Scribe going up against 2x Cypher Champion Rel Lyfe to determine who’s next to get a shot at the Champ.
RVA Rap Elite Cypher: This is the bread and butter of RVA Rap Elite! Our 30 Emcee Cypher (IN THIS CASE 50 EMCEES!) has birthed some of the most memorable moments, and created legacies for some of the most talented emcees we’ve ever seen. This is where steel sharpens steel and emcees of all backgrounds, ages, and level of experience get to develop and display their skills! Emcee performs for 2 minutes and receive scores from the 3 judges (Radio B, Nickelus F, Easalio) to determine a Cypher Champion at the end. Each cypher the stats accumulate is throughout the full season of Rap Elite to determine who is the Season’s MVP. This episode’s cypher will be produced by REP!
